This is the taco recipe I grew up eating. They’re tasty, they’re filling, and (most importantly) they’re easy! This is the perfect recipe for nights when you don’t know what to make or don’t have a lot of time.
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 can of pinto beans
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of fajita seasoning
- 1 box of taco shells or tortillas
- 1 bag of shredded cheese
- (Optional) Any taco toppings you might like
- (Note: This recipe can be doubled or tripled with no problem.)
Directions:
- Brown the beef in a pan over medium heat
- Once the beef is browned, stir in the pinto beans, salt, and fajita seasoning
- Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and let the ingredients simmer for 5 minutes before serving
Serving:
I like to make a buffet line where family members can serve themselves. I line up plates, tortillas, the meat, shredded cheese, and toppings on the counter to make it easy on me and everyone else.
Next Level:
Take taco night to the next level with the following improvements!
- Make some homemade salsa to put on the tacos and serve as an appetizer
- Make some homemade lime crema to put on the tacos
- Make some homemade tortillas to serve the tacos in
- Make some homemade margaritas to really spoil yourself
